About this artwork

Thomas Smith from Derby was a landscape artist and one of his works includes a depiction of Chatsworth House, a grand estate located in Derbyshire, England. The house is prominently featured in the background of the painting, its formal gardens complementing it. In the front, you can see people having a good time in the surrounding park. This print is a true reproduction from the Devonshire Collection housed at Chatsworth. Every sale contributes to the preservation of this historic archive.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery

About the artist

Thomas Smith, a well-known English landscape artist from Derby, captured stunning scenes of historic homes and the Lake District. While only a handful of his paintings remain, his engravings live on in esteemed museums such as like the Royal Academy, British Museum, and Yale Museum. His influence was central to shaping the English picturesque.
