About this artwork

Charles Robert Cockerell was not only an English architect, but also an archaeologist and a writer. In 1842, he created an architectural masterpiece called ‘A Tribute to Sir Christopher Wren’. This artwork was a grand, sweeping depiction of all the structures credited to the well known English Baroque architect, Sir Christopher Wren. Cockerell's drawing played a crucial role in sparking the Wren revival, an Edwardian architectural trend that took inspiration from Wren's design principles.

Express service for unframed print and posters by Royal Mail Special Delivery to arrive the next working day for an additional cost. Framed prints are always shipped by express courier.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.
International - Unframed by Registered AirMail or by premium express courier (select at checkout).
Very large prints are always sent by express service.

About the artist

Charles Robert Cockerell was an English architect, archaeologist, and writer. He was born in London in 1788 and was educated at the Royal Academy Schools. He was a founding member of the Athenaeum Club and was a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. Cockerell was a prolific and influential architect, designing many buildings in the Greek Revival style. He was also a well known archaeologist, travelling to Greece and Italy to study ancient ruins. He wrote extensively on his travels and his work was highly regarded by his contemporaries.
