About the artist
Born in London in 1901, Muriel Jackson, the child of architect A Blomfield Jackson, grew into an accomplished painter and printmaker. Notably known for her portraits and murals, she died in 1978. Her journey into the art world began under the tutelage of Noel Rooke and F Ernest Jackson at the Central School of Arts and Crafts following her private education. Exhibitions of her work were showcased extensively, from the Royal Academy and the New English Art Club, to the Redfern Gallery, and even in America. Her artwork is currently displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago. She spent most of her life in London.
