About this artwork
Tony Curtis, born June 3, 1925 and died September 29, 2010, was a notable American actor known for his versatility in various genres, from musicals to drama. One iconic instance of his work is his role as 'Jo' in the 1959 romantic comedy 'Some Like It Hot', which was penned by Billy Wilder. Curtis played Jo, a jazz saxophonist and charming playboy. In the film, Jo, along with his co-star Jerry, played by Jack Lemmon, disguised themselves as women to blend into an exclusively female band.
