About the artist
Eileen Margaret Evans, a British graphic designer, co-founded the Mount/Evans design studio with Reginald Mount after World War II. She studied commercial art at London's Reimann School, famous for its employment prospects. Evans joined the Ministry of Information (later COI) and collaborated with Mount during the war, designing propaganda and public information posters. Her independent creations included a recruitment poster for farm workers and several for the Lend A Hand on the Land campaign. Evans' work is featured in 'The Art of War' collection at the National Archives and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
