About this artwork

Auguste Etienne Francois Mayer was a French artist who really nailed it when it came to seafaring themes. He even tagged along on a few icy voyages to the Arctic and those experiences really shine through in his artwork. In 1836, he knocked it out of the park with 'The Redoutable at Trafalgar'. This piece was just one of a series of six that Mayer put together, each spotlighting the intense battles and challenges at sea during the famous Battle of Trafalgar.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

About the artist

Born in Brest, 1805, Auguste Étienne François Mayer, a French artist, excelled in maritime themes. His experience on multiple Arctic voyages significantly influenced his body of work. Additionally, he imparted his artistic skills at the École Navale, teaching drawing.
