About the artist
Vladimir Grigoryevich Tretchikoff ((1913-2006), the creator of the famous painting "Chinese Girl" or "The Green Lady," was a self-taught artist known for his realistic figures, portraits, and more. His work, frequently inspired by his experiences in China, Singapore, Indonesia, and South Africa, gained immense popularity. Despite being considered kitsch by some art critics, his reproduced prints were so well-loved that he was rumored to be the wealthiest artist after Picasso. His painting mediums varied from oil, watercolour, to pencil, but he's best remembered for his reproduced prints.
