About the artist
Steve Forney, a commercial artist, has a talent for crafting art-deco inspired art, reminiscent of the vibrant 1920s advertising culture. For over 15 years, he's specialised in vintage style art. Even as a child, Steve was often lost in his sketches, so engrossed that he'd ignore his mom's dinner calls. This artistic fervor stuck with him, even through his days at the University of California where he'd doodle instead of focusing on lectures. Remarkably, he graduated with a BA in Political Science in 1991! After university, he decided to follow his artistic passions, diving into freelance illustration. Among his inspirations, he counts graphic designer Alex Steinweiss, futurist painter Fortunato Depero, and modern masters Giorgio Morandi and Picasso. Currently, Steve calls Oakland, California, his home and workspace.
