About the artist
Born in Haarlem in 1614, Pieter Holsteyn the younger, lived until 1673. Under the guidance of his father, Pieter Holsteyn the elder, he developed his skills in painting on various mediums like paper, canvas, glass, and vellum. He also produced engraved portraits. Holsteyn worked in several cities including Haarlem, Amsterdam, Munster, and Enkhuisen, and trained the painter Josua Breckerveld.
