About this artwork
Check out this excellent print that's modeled after a color-printed, hand-finished stipple engraving called Dalea double. This was originally engraved by Langlois around 1800 and based on a piece by the well known Pierre Joseph Redouté, who lived between 1759 and 1840. This comes from P. J. Redouté's compilation, Choix des plus belles fleurs. It was published in sections, each having four plates, in Paris between the years 1827 to 1833. This one's from Plate 32.
