About the artist
Born in Le Havre, France, his photography journey began when he received a Kodak Eastman camera on his 17th birthday. Demarchelier moved to New York in 1975, initially working under well known photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and Jacques Guilbert. In 1992, he joined Harper’s Bazaar, eventually becoming the magazine's leading photographer, and he was behind numerous campaigns for fashion giants like Dior and Chanel. His work is celebrated for embodying classic elegance and progressive style, with his portfolio featuring an impressive array of supermodels.
