About the artist
Sarah's artwork is deeply rooted in her passion for architecture and design, especially modernist architecture and the mundane urban structures that fill our cities. Many inquire about her creative process, given the deceptively simple aesthetic of the end results.
Her work initiates with conceptualizing a collection centered on a theme, examples of which include Landmark, Scandi House, and Shapes of Brutalism. Following theme selection, she delves into researching buildings that align with the theme, discovering their unique attributes and histories.
Upon deciding on the final building assortment, Sarah starts hand-drawing each structure, paying close attention to detail. This process helps her infuse each print with its distinct personality. Once she finalises the colour and composition, she moves to the digital stage, employing CAD software to generate the vibrant graphic pieces Oscar Francis is recognised for.
