About the artist
Mario De Biasi, originally from Solis near Belluno, was born in 1923 and breathed his last in 2013 in Milan, a city he called home since 1938. His tryst with photography began in 1945 when he found a camera amidst the rubble in Nuremberg, where he was stationed. On his return to Italy, he organised his inaugural solo exhibit in 1948. His three-decade affiliation with the Epoca magazine commenced in 1953, taking him on numerous global ventures and contributing to hundreds of cover stories. His published works totaled an impressive 91 books. Away from the lens, De Biasi took delight in sketching and painting.
