About the artist

Luca Brandi, born in 1961 in Florence, Italy, is a modern Italian artist. At a tender age of 10, he started assisting master Romolo Prati in creating large-scale spiritual artworks on church sacristy panels in Florence.

In 1983, Brandi started studying abstract painting under the guidance of Paolo Galletti, who taught him the art of form deconstruction using geometry and colour. His first individual exhibition was showcased at the Dada gallery in Florence in 1985.

Brandi's artwork continues to evolve into uncharted territories. Mirroring Rothko's belief that art should be miraculous, Brandi also follows this path which leads him to his spiritual journey. His use of material, seamlessly combined with metallic colours, start to regain their unique identity of pure colour, giving off a silky hue, almost as if undergoing an alchemical separation.
