About the artist
During World War Two, Faithfull worked for the War Artists' Advisory Committee (WAAC), acquiring facilities and permits to create art. She used this opportunity to produce paintings of evacuee children and American servicemen playing baseball in a London park. These pieces were later bought by WAAC. She also worked as a surgical artist at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead under the direction of Sir Archibald McIndoe during the war.
Post-war, Faithfull built a solid reputation as a portrait painter, with her works exhibited extensively at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal Society of British Artists, and the New English Art Club.
