About the artist
Born in Bordeaux in 1882 and passing away in 1964, Jean Dupas was a versatile designer during the early 20th century, known today as one of the most influential figures of the Art Deco era. His initial training was as an academic painter, but from the 1920s onwards, Dupas expanded his creative horizons, dabbling in ornamental painting and design. His portfolio boasts a wide array of works, from large-scale murals and panels to commercial posters and designs. Dupas' style remained uniquely identifiable throughout his career, marked by dreamlike settings, statuesque figures, gracefully elongated necks, and an air of fashionable elegance.
