About this artwork
Frank Sinatra, also affectionately dubbed 'ol blue eyes', was a well known American singer, actor, and producer. His birth on December 12, 1915, and death on May 14, 1998, bookends a career that made him one of the beloved musical artists of the early 20th century. Heavily influenced by Bing Crosby's intimate and easy-listening vocal style, Sinatra kick-started his musical journey during the swing era.He struck gold as a solo artist when he inked a deal with Columbia Records in 1943. The photo in question shows Sinatra in his element, recording one of his numerous albums in the studio.
