About this artwork

Fernando Botero is a well known Colombian artist and sculptor known for his distinctive style called 'Boterismo'. His artwork often features people with vastly exaggerated, almost cartoon-like proportions. You'll find them either alone or in groups and they could be anyone from politicians to dancers. Take this painting for example, it shows a man and woman dancing in a beautifully ornate room, maybe at a wedding or a festival.

Express service for unframed print and posters by Royal Mail Special Delivery to arrive the next working day for an additional cost. Framed prints are always shipped by express courier.

UK - £3.95 for unframed items by 1st Class Packetpost
UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.
International - Unframed by Registered AirMail or by premium express courier (select at checkout).
Very large prints are always sent by express service.
International - Framed by premium express courier (select at checkout).

About the artist

Colombian artist Fernando Botero is famed for his distinctive "Boterismo" style characterised by inflated figures, is a highly regarded painter and sculptor. He was born in 1932 in Medellín, a city brimming with Spanish colonial architecture and ancient artifacts. Botero initially trained as a matador but switched to art.

Botero's unique style, often seen as a social commentary, covers diverse topics from Colombian daily life to historical art references and power abuses. He refined his craft in Europe in the 1950s and New York in the 1960s, before settling into his signature technique in the 1970s.

Currently, he divides his time between Paris, New York, and Tuscany. His masterpieces grace prestigious collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Bogotá's Museo Botero.
