About the artist
British artist, Dame Elisabeth Frink (1930-1993) was born in Thurlow, Suffolk. Her diverse creative journey, creating sculptures, drawings, and etchings, started at Guildford and Chelsea School of Art. Beyond her sculptures, she also explored illustrations for classics like 'The Odyssey' and 'The Canterbury Tales'.
Birds are a consistent motif in her work, as an embodiement of raw emotions and natural form. She taught at the Chelsea School of Art (1953-1961) and St. Martin’s School of Art (1954-1962).
