About the artist
Born in 1939, Colin Ruffell endured bombings, evacuations, education, expulsions, and extensive travels. Eventually, at the age of 26, he embraced a career as a full-time professional artist, feeling proud and grateful for his survival. Ruffell obtained qualifications in painting, design, printmaking, and psychology from two Art Colleges and the Open University. Currently residing in Brighton, UK, he boasts a 50-year tenure as an artist, producing countless original paintings and limited/open edition prints. His diverse styles encompass well known cityscapes, countryside landscapes, Mediterranean vistas, abstracts, still lifes, and a child-art inspired depiction of cats, kitchens, and local scenes. His preferred mediums include acrylics, watercolours, and oils.
