Claude Virgin ie Monet was a French Impressionist painter who was born in 1840. He is best known for his series of paintings of the same subject, such as his Haystacks and Water Lilies. Monet was a leader in the development of the Impressionist style, and his works are considered some of the most influential in the history of art. He was a prolific painter, producing more than 2,500 works in his lifetime.
