About this artwork

This artwork was a piece of an ad campaign that was ordered back in the late 1920s by the Empire Marketing Board. The idea was to use the posters to boost business across the British Empire, showcasing a perfect picture of life in its territories and dominions. You can find the original posters at The National Archives in the UK.

Express services:

Express service for unframed print and posters by Royal Mail Special Delivery to arrive the next working day for an additional cost. Framed prints are always shipped by express courier.

Shipping Fees:

UK - £3.95 for unframed items by 1st Class Packetpost
UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.
International - Unframed by Registered AirMail or by premium express courier (select at checkout).
Very large prints are always sent by express service.
International - Framed by premium express courier (select at checkout).

About the artist

Charles Pears was an English artist and illustrator, best known for his maritime paintings. He was born in 1873 in London and studied at the Royal Academy of Arts. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of British Artists. His works were exhibited in galleries across the UK and Europe, and he was awarded the Royal Academy Gold Medal in 1921.
