About the artist
Carl Larsson was a Swedish painter and interior designer who is best known for his watercolours of idyllic family scenes. He was born in 1853 in Stockholm and studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. His works often featured his wife, Karin Bergöö, and their eight children. He was a prolific artist, producing over 4,000 works in his lifetime. His style was heavily influenced by the French Impressionists, and he was a major contributor to the development of Swedish art.
