About the artist
Anthony Peters (1925-1992) was an American abstract expressionist painter and sculptor. He was born in New York City and studied at the Art Students League of New York. His works were heavily influenced by the works of Willem de Kooning and Franz Kline. He was a member of the American Abstract Artists group and was known for his large-scale abstract paintings. He was also a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Anthony Peters was a prominent figure in the abstract expressionist movement and his works are held in many public and private collections.
