His World War II Royal Engineers' military service photography piqued British Vogue editor Audrey Withers' interest. In 1947, he joined Condé Nast as a key photographer, enhancing esteemed publications such as House and Garden magazine. Denney eventually ascended to Decorations Editor for British Vogue, leveraging his socialite status.
