About the artist
In the 1930s, Sybil Andrews and Cyril Power, under the collective alias "Andrew Power," were hired by Frank Pick to design promotional posters for public transit-based outings. Power obtained the assignment while Andrews created the designs. Their artworks, celebrating various sporting occasions like ice skating, soccer, Wimbledon, and horse racing, aimed to endorse public transport usage and stimulate attendance at these events.
