About this artwork
Back in the early 1960s, Alan Scales called Paris his home and during that time, he took a number of spontaneous snapshots of both landmarks and locals. Using Leica and Rolleiflex cameras, Scales was able to churn out high-end black and white photos including the shot of Montmartre Steps, a well known street in Paris. This particular photo showcases the staircase viewed from the hilltop, highlighting the city's romantic architecture.
