About the artist

The talented French brothers, Adam and Maurice-Pillard Verneuil, made notable contributions to the realm of decorative arts in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly during the Art Nouveau movement. Originally from Paris, they were deeply immersed in the thriving artistic milieu of the city and received their education at the well known École des Beaux-Arts.

Adam Verneuil, the elder sibling, gained recognition for his exquisite depictions of plants and meticulous designs. His creations often found inspiration in the natural world, utilizing delicate contours and organic forms to fashion fascinating compositions.

Maurice-Pillard Verneuil, the younger brother, pursued a vocation as an artist and designer, with a focus on the geometric and abstract facets of the Art Nouveau movement. His works frequently showcased vibrant hues, dynamic outlines, and inventive textures, positioning him as a prominent figure in the decorative arts of his era.
